Creating PDF from OpenDocument
Perhaps the easiest way for creating PDF from OpenDocument format is by using OpenOffice.org Writer's built-in PDF creator:
- Open paper in OpenOffice.org Writer
- From 'file' menu, select 'export as PDF'
- Make sure you have selected 'lossless compression' for images to maintain highest possible quality
- PDF creation is finalised by clicking 'export'
Creating PDF from Word document
Recommended way of creating PDF from a Word document is by using Adobe Distiller. In case you do not have access to it, an alternate solution is to use CutePDF writer:
- Download CutePDF Writer by clicking 'Free Download' in CutePDF Writer's homepage
- Install the downloaded software. If everything went ok, CutePDF Writer should appear in 'Printers and Faxes' in Windows control panel
- Open the doc document
- From 'file' menu, select 'print'
- Select 'CutePDF Writer' from printers, adjust print settings as desired and click 'OK'
- A dialog asking for PDF filename should appear. Enter the name desired for your PDF file and click 'save' and you are done.
